IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eric "Big
E" Anthony Roberts
January 4, 1960 – May 2, 2025
Eric Anthony Roberts was born on January 4, 1960, to the late Dorothy and John Roberts Sr. in Lafayette, La. He was raised in Rayne, La. surrounded by a large family built solely on love. Eric later moved to Beaumont, Tx where he has resided for over 45 years. At an early age, he became an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where he later joined the Knights of Peter Claver and The American Legion Post 817. Throughout his life, he prided himself on hard work while also being a loving husband, father, grandfather and a great example to all who knew him. Until retirement, he worked as a truck driver for many years while also making a name for himself in the Southend of Beaumont as he maintained a lawn care service and a food catering business specializing in smoked meats. His expertise on the barbecue pit awarded him the title of the "Pit Master". If not working or spending time with family, Eric often volunteered his time cooking for events at the church or within the community. Affectionately known as "Big E", "Uncle E" or "Boss Man" by family and friends throughout Rayne and Beaumont, his heart always melted each time he was lovingly called Paw Paw.
Eric leaves to cherish his memories to his wife; Rosa Roberts; two daughters: Latisha Jolivette and Ashlyn (Roy) Baines; three sons: Eric (Ieshia) Jolivette, James (Ashley) Jolivette and Jamaal (Iman) Zachere; sixteen grandchildren, sisters: Patricia Bonnom, Jacqueline (Robert) Domingue, Althea White, Mary (Edward) Nickson and Johnnie Roberts, brothers: Stanley Roberts Sr., Tyler (Rishell) Roberts Sr., Elliot Roberts and Joseph Martin, special acknowledgement: Maureen Roberts, lifelong friends: Al Francis, Joe Arceneaux, Ransom Jones, and The Chaison Park Crew, godfather: Sylvester Julian, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents: Dorothy and John Roberts Sr., one son: Frank Roberts Sr., two brothers: John Roberts Jr. and Patrick Roberts and one sister: Irma Martin.
