On May 6, 2023 The Angel of Death sounded her trumpet and a beautiful white dove bounded Rayne, Louisiana, where a faithful servant awaited his master's call. He was always willing to do the works of the Lord and was prepared for his maker's command.
Joseph Larry Citizen, Larry as he was affectionately known, was born on December 20, 1958 to the late Walter and Josephine Bellard Citizen in Church Point, Louisiana. Larry was a caring, passionate, & devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend. No matter the time of day or night he was there to lend a helping hand. Larry was baptized and received his first holy communion at an early age at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point, Louisiana. Larry worked as a welder for Gerald Trahan Welding Services for 20-plus years. In 2009 Larry opened his own welding company "Larry's Welding Services" where he worked and ran his own business until his health began to fail Larry was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to cook for others and was a lover of his family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Linda Gail Wilridge-Citizen; his parents Walter and Josephine Bellard Citizen; two brothers Joseph Hilton Citizen and Joseph Richard Citizen; one sister Etheline Citizen; one son Jonathan Citizen Sr, and one daughter Deleshia Shanel Wilridge.
Larry leaves to cherish his sweet memories three daughters Shamika Ann Citizen of Baytown, Texas; Millerson Wynette Wilridge & Kayla Louise Richard (Bryan) of Rayne, Louisiana; two sons Joseph Moore of Church Point, Louisiana & George Moore of Baytown, Texas; two brothers Wallace Citizen (Joyce) and Warren Citizen of Church Point, Louisiana; five sisters Elvina Carrier and Josephine Chavis (James) of Church Point, Louisiana, Velma Eaglin and Mary Jean Bias of Sulphur, Louisiana and Leota Citizen of Houston, Texas; a special friend Diane Richard, twenty grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, and friends.
